Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2023 Release 46% ABV
Named after the freshwater loch neighbouring the Islay distillery, Loch Gorm is fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks from the Jose Miguel Martin bodega. A mix of butts and hogsheads go into the dram, which is back for its 2023 release. A must-have for fans of sherry-matured smoky whisky – and collectable, too!
Tasting note:
Nose: Expressive as always from Kilchoman, there are rich dark chocolate notes along with deep, dark rich fruits, earthy tobacco, and that signature warm peat smoke.
Palate: Building on the nose, there’s more of that peat smoke with the addition of citrus peels, liquorice, nutmeg and furniture polish.
Finish: Very long with a lasting sweet peat smoke.
