Joy.Discovery.Invention Track #1 Turntable Blending House 46% ABV
The first release from Turntable Spirits, a new blended Scotch brand created to highlight the richness of the category. Ally and Gordon Stevenson were tired of blended whisky being seen as stuffy or boring – so their expressions bring flavour-first creativity. The first of the initial bottlings is Joy.Discovery.Invention, a blend of whiskies from Knockdhu Chinkapin, Linkwood virgin oak, Girvan red wine, and Strathclyde Cognac casks. Every release from Turntable is left to marry for at least three months before being bottled at natural colour and with no chill filtration at 46% ABV. This is blended Scotch, but not as you know it!
Tasting note:
Nose: Sumptuously inviting with vanilla, milk chocolate and citrus peels giving way to pineapple, underscored by bonfire smoke.
Palate: A vanilla base is given texture with cinnamon and ginger spice, with toffee marmalade notes appearing, too.
Finish: Medium length, with tropical fruits and sweet spices.
