Ironroot 2012 / Berry Bros & Rudd / #56 / 61.2% / 70cl USA Bourbon whiskey
Nose: A full throttle aromatic bourbon opens with a deep dark cocoa and dark toffee aroma, winter fruit cake, ripe figs and damsons, toasted oak and golden honey, some creamy notes as expected but even the softer tones are very rich indeed.
Palate: Some red berries and toffee, whipped fudge and toasted almonds, dark chocolate, strawberries and dark fruits flow around the mid to late palate, malted fruit cake, peach, apricot, fresh tobacco leaves.
A big bold and smooth bourbon that reacts perfectly with a drop or 2 of water.
