Invergordon 49 1972 Single Cask Grain 44.4%   Ex Bourbon Cask Matured 87 Bottles Worldwide

Nose: This is a rich and bold dram on the nose, with a delicate and nicely rounded soft fruit, some polished oak and a little hint of polished leather and peach stones, creamy vanilla and a little spice, a lot of aromas are flowing from the glass, including sweet and tangy cinnamon and soft sweet candy chews.

Palate: With a freshness on the front of the palate that really grabs the attention of the palate, some nice fresh cut tobacco leaf and a touch of vanilla and spices, ginger and honey notes, sweet and dry notes vie for attention on the palate, a little liquorice root and a gentle mint tea leaf. Lingering tropical fruits and a little spice make this one dram to savour.

This is a very interesting dram indeed with a nod to the great drams of the highlands and a little hint of Rye / Bourbon like richness.
