Highland Park 21 Year Old 46% ABV - 2022 Batch

A wonderfully aged Highland Park single malt bottling, all the way from Orkney. It was crafted from just 14 casks, all laid down on or before the year 2000, by master whisky maker Gordon Motion. You’ve got a blend of sherry-seasoned first-fill European oak hogsheads, ex-bourbon casks, and refill casks. The result is a load of dark chocolate, fruit-forward sweetness wrapped up in Highland Park’s signature floral peat smoke.

Tasting note:

Nose: The nose opens with marmalade-on-toast notes, along with crushed coriander seeds, freshly ground coffee beans, and THAT dark chocolate aroma.

Palate: Big and round with a gentle pepper prickle, the palate brings raisins, plum, orange peel, an almond nuttiess and tangy ginger, all grounded with wafts of smoked heather. 

Finish: Long and toasty, with pepper and more orange peel.
