A fascinating and beautifully aged Highland Park release from expert bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail. Part of its Connoisseurs Choice line up, this expression, from the acclaimed Orkney distillery, has spend its life in a refill American hogshead before being bottled at 52.4% on 21 December 2022. One of just 222 bottles, this is absolutely a dram to snap up before its all gone.
Tasting note:
Nose: Bright and airy, there’s lemon peels and butterscotch in with green apple and a very subtle wood smoke.
Palate: The fruit becomes more tropical, with melon and pineapple coming though. There’s a herbal note in with more wisps of peat.
Finish: Medium length with more fruitiness and a lingering soft smoke.
