Glenlossie 2013 Oloroso Finish Wilson & Morgan 46%

Rarely seen whisky from Speyside’s Glenlossie distillery here. Independently bottled by Wilson & Morgan, this brilliant release has spent a mammoth two-year finishing period in first-fill Oloroso butts. Glenlossie is known for its rich, textured, almost fatty mouthfeel and this expression does not disappoint. A total of 1,423 bottles have been released.

Tasting note:

Nose: A buttery nose bursting with dried fruits and with a clear fortified wine influence. There’s a rich nuttiness, too.

Palate: More rich dried fruits, with apricots, raisins and figs wrapped up in a distinct marzipan note. Honey comes through, too.

Finish: Medium length with a surprise herbal element.
