Glen Scotia 12 Year Old Seasonal Release Bottled at Cask Strength 53.3% 2022
This 12 year old unpeated spirit has been matured in first fill Bourbon barrels before a final twelve month finish in Amontillado Sherry Casks.
Nose: Some hints of spices, Toasted oak, new season honey, vanilla pods, salted toffee Popcorn, with a crushed almonds drizzled with caramel, with a superbly rich maritime note, with sea spray, a touch of pepper.
Palate: Opening on the palate is very nicely balanced with whipped creamy vanilla fudge, salted caramel, some apricots and sweet spices adding a deliciously flavoursome mid palate, heading into a dry spice and creamy coastal tone finish, some cashews, hard toffee and light honeycomb, a warming rounded finish with the right balance between dry sweet spices and salted caramel.
This is a fantastic tasting dram from one of the worlds great distilling regions.
