Glen Keith 2013 – Matured for 9 years in sweet and aromatic PX Sherry Hogsheads.
This was distilled in the first year of production post mothballing of the distillery and the liquid has been enhanced by the PX cask to give a full-bodied dram with cinnamon spiced mocha and dark chocolate.
Nose: Deep rich vanilla and dark fruit, some tangy sweet spices that really open the aroma nicely, some hints of tobacco leaf and soft strawberry cream tones, with a few moments in the glass the nose builds up coca and raisins.
Palate: A nice fruity opening on the palate, dark fruits like plumbs and damson, red apples, toasted cinnamon buns, some creamy vanilla and honey adds to the mid palate, strawberry jam, dark chocolate, hints of warming spices leading to a lingering finish.
