Girvan 32 Year Old 1990 Thompson Bros 48.7% ABV

A 1990s vintage release from Lowland single grain producer Girvan, released by independent bottler Thompson Bros. The duo behind the expression teamed up with illustrator Sara Willia for the label – and if you like well-aged single grains, it’s a must-try. The non-chill-filtered, natural colour expression was drawn from just one refill barrel and one refill hogshead.

Tasting note:

Nose: Remarkably green, with apples and pears in with a springtime grassiness. Beeswax and rhubarb and custard boiled sweets come through too.

Palate: More greeness, this time lifted by vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, and a subtle herbal note. There’s a softness to the texture.

Finish: Medium length with more fruit and gentle spices.
