A fabulous ex-bourbon hogshead Fettercairn bottling from the team at Chapter 7! Part of its celebrated Monologue series of natural colour and non-chill-filtered whiskies, this offers a great snapshot of the Highland single malt’s character. Fascinatingly Fettercairn’s spirit still features an external cooling ring, so water flows down the copper creating a beautiful patina. We think it’s unique in Scotch!
Tasting note:
Nose: It opens with a delightful milk chocolate note, along with breakfast cereal, just-ripe banana and a fragrant Earl Grey tea.
Palate: Much more biscuity on the palate, there’s Digestive, Rich Tea and Gingersnaps, plus a dusty earthiness and even a dash of mint.
Finish: Medium length with a continuation of the earthiness.
