Selección de Familia is made from molasses and sugar cane honeys, distilled in copper pot stills combined with batch kettle and column distillation, and then aged for up to 12 years in American white oak, ex-bourbon, and ex-sherry casks.
Nose: The first thing that hits you is how rich this Rum is, with an intense aroma of dark fruits, citrus and some toasted cinnamon buns, A light sweet fruity note with a sweet floral note, as this rum opens in the glass some fruit cake and barley sugar candy notes.
Palate: Rich with vanilla toffee, fruitiness with candied citrus peel, dark fruit cake and a hint of sweet spices like nutmeg, a slowly building rich creamy mid palate of soft chewy candy, a little hint of crazy sour candy adds a nice twist to the palate as we head into a lingerie g finish of orchard & light citrus fruits, a final twist of ripe vine fruits and a little tangy spice.
