compass box experimental grain

Experimental Grain Whisky is comprised mainly with grains from the Cameronbridge and North British distilleries. Plus add a Loch Lomond into the mix then you are in for a taste journey.

Nose: Rich vanilla and fudge, some new season honey and caramel bars, hints of soft sweet lemon and cereal fruit bars.

Palate: Very smooth indeed to open up but something lingers! with a rich fruity note from the start, some rich toasted pine nuts add depth and a rich tone to the opening of this dram. Some vanilla cheesecake, then the twist comes into play with a much bolder mid palate, lots of oily rich notes, tangy with some spices and as the producers indicated so well with patchouli oil.

Finish: keeping the vanilla note but balanced with the rich lingering oil notes and spice this is a very interesting dram indeed.
