A refreshing tasting Caol Ila from the Gordon & MacPhail Discovery series.
Nose: A very rich aroma that vies between smoke, fruit & peat, smooth vanilla notes open to a citrus aroma that has some soft smouldering wood smoke, the richness of the peat comes into play alongside orchard fruits and apricot, peach and apple strudel.
Palate: A rich lemon cheesecake, some fresh baked patisseries and warming smoke and cereals, with a toasted brioche and pears in the mid palate, heading towards the finish we find a hint of smoked Bavarian cheese, candied lemon peel, more smoke comes into the finish alongside some deliciously rounded spice and fruit.
