Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt Whisky 46% 70cl
A wildly popular blended malt, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks at Campbeltown distillery Springbank. A fascinating release, the recipe contains five different malts from the region's three active distilleries.
Nose: Some sweet honey and soft fruity notes, creamy vanilla and a hint of shortbread, soft tangy notes, butterscotch and a little ginger, subtle pepper and spiced oak.
Palate: The initial taste on the front would lead you to believe its a Springbank distillate rather than a blending of other whiskies from Scotland, the Vatting / blending is perfect, a nice spicy tangy mouthfeel, lots of smooth and rich fruity tones, some caramel toffee, soft smoke like notes and a rich coastal tone.
