Brechin 28 1977 53.3%

North Port Distillery (Brechin) was established in 1820, closing in 1983, it's been completely dismantled piece by piece ahead of the final demolition in 1994 of the remaining buildings.

Nose: Light sweet and fresh fruity notes, rich and very elegant from the start, some creamy notes seem to flow around the aroma, soft wood notes, pastel de nata, some whipped cream with a subtle lemon and vanilla.

Palate: Building on from the nose with a more organic note thing through, some crystallised citrus peel, candied orange and creamy cheesecake mix, apple and pears arrive in the mid palate, more sweet citrus notes and hints of toffee and tangy liquorice, some sweet coastal notes seem to come into play before a soft spice arrives to finish this extraordinary dram off.
