Blair Athol 14 Year Old 2008 Berry Bros & Rudd Tokaj Gonchi Finish - 51.1%

A gorgeous bottling from independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd’s 2022 Winter Release! The spicy Highland single malt has been softened by its finishing period in a Tokaji gonchi! The dessert wine lends a gentle roundness – along with a whole load of texture and complexity. One for fans of unusual wine casks.

Tasting note:

Nose: Incredibly fruity with a zesty marmalade, peach, fig, marzipan and crisp geen apples, grounded by sweet baking spices.

Palate: Thick and unctuous on the palate, the fruit becomes jammier, and the apricots drier. There’s more orchard fruits, and an unexpected earthiness.

Finish: Long with a warming prickle and raisins.
