This first-fill bourbon hogshead produced 290 bottles at a cask strength of 54.9%
A fantastic Highland whisky, in another of the atypical bourbon casks that I occasionally find!
Nose: Has toffee pennies, dried fruits and peels, hay bales, rum baba, and shoe polish.
Palate: Is big and nutty, with walnut liqueur, dark plum jam, tea-soaked raisins, and maple syrup leading to a slightly salty and herbal finish. It swims particularly well, with water bringing out cakey softness and plenty of stone fruits.
