A remarkable release from Campbeltown single malt distillery Glen Scotia. This 21-year-old expression has been aged in both refill bourbon barrels and refill American oak hogsheads, ahead of a six-month finish in first-fill Oloroso casks. The rich fruits complement the distillery’s signature Atlantic sea spray notes perfectly.
Tasting note from Glen Scotia:
Nose: Sweet perfumed oloroso, spiced red apple, peppercorns with a soft signature Campbeltown aroma
Palate: Baked red apples, plump raisins, a journey of cloves, star anise, cinnamon and spice. Soft creamy vanilla, toffee and sea spray
Finish: Long, complex and incredibly balanced, with a lingering touch of sea salt and sherry dryness
