Wildmoor 23 Year Old Dark Moorland 42% 70cl

Brand new from William Grant & Sons, the family business behind the likes of Glenfiddich and The Balvenie, comes Wildmoor, a range of blended Scotch whiskies inspired by the wilderness of Scotland. Malt Master Brian Kinsman worked on each of the recipes, which were crafted to portray a distinct geography. This 23-year-old expression evokes the windswept winter moorlands, with sherry casks lending deep vanilla and rich spices. The malt components were sourced from Speyside and the Highlands, with the grains coming from the Lowlands. Both American and European oak were used over the long maturation period, ahead of a final finish in Oloroso sherry casks. It’s a sumptuously rich expression, with stewed orchard fruits, butterscotch, and a subtle whisper of smoke.
