Mortlach 22 Year Old 1999 Milroy's #3874 54.7% 70cl

A breathtakingly rare Mortlach here, and one that joins the line-up of classic, distillate forward bottlings in our Milroy’s Vintage Reserve Collection. This Speyside distillery is known for its bold, meaty character, but here the influence of a quieter hogshead has tamed the beast. Just 20 bottles of this unusually delicate Mortlach have been released, and they offer a fascinating insight into the Dufftown maker. 

Tasting note:

Nose: Surprisingly soft, with dusty icing sugar,  tarte tatin and cream soda notes, with cardamon, coconut and red berries arriving, too.

Palate: A creamy texture holds cut grass, milk chocolate and vanilla pod notes, along with more berries and stewed apple. 

Finish: Medium length with elegant sweetness at the forefront.
