Paul John Mithuna 58% Vol Single Malt From Goa India
Maithuna is the 3rd zodiac sign we know as Gemini, The constellation is celebrated for a whole month as it rides high in the sky.
This single malt is possibly one of the most interesting on the palate with its maturation taking place in two oak types, fresh first fill American oak then finished in first fill ex bourbon oak casks.
Nose: This is a bold nose for sure, It's not over the top because of the ABV far from it because the spirit has matured in a much warmer climate so accelerating the maturation process by drawing out the deeper complexity of the casks.
A waxy fruit is followed by vanilla and spice profile on the nose, deep oily notes with a dash of leather really push this nose onwards even with a drop of water it stays rich and beautifully complex.
Palate: Initially we hit a spiced note, but this is a great opening salvo as we reach some dark fruits including sweet fresh dates cinnamon and ground cardamom, sweet vanilla and dried orange peel. Candied fruits with coconut and dark chocolate fondant.
