Maker's Mark 45% 70cl
The iconic red wax-sealed bourbon from Kentucky, Maker’s Mark is fascinatingly made. Said to be distilled to the lowest proof of any US whiskey, it offers a rich, thick mouthfeel and robust flavour. It’s also produced using the sour mash process, so a small amount mash from a prior production run is added into the fermentation run.
Nose: Toasted caramel with hints of vanilla and honey, sweet dried tobacco leaf and soft runny honey aromas, sweet baking spices, white truffle, cinnamon, chocolate nibs, sweet toasted oak.
Palate: A creamy and spicy note on the front of the palate, with a soft honey and vanilla pod, traces of crisp brandy snap and cereal bars drizzled with toffee, toasted fruit cake with cream and maple syrup, as the dram heads to the finish we find some really nicely balanced spices and hints of dark caramel.
