Glenkinchie 27 Year Old Special Releases 2023 The Floral Treasure 58.3% ABV
A remarkably vibrant expression, and one of the oldest official bottlings from lowland distillery Glenkinchie. Matured in refill American and European oak barrels and butts, its delicate but bright, elegant yet expressive. Opulently textured with a fruity profile, it’s a fascinating look at what extended ageing does to this redolent distillery.
Tasting note:
Nose: Mellow and relaxed, the dram opens with a soft grassiness, sweet apple juice and dusty almonds, before citrus and red berry notes come through.
Palate: Mouthcoating and silken but not heavy, this is a rich, round whisky. The palate matches the nose, with the addition of sweet spices and toasty oak.
Finish: Long and rich, with a surprising spiciness.
