A fabulous release from the renowned Islay distillery, bottled by the Rare Spirits team at Gleann Mòr. Bruichladdich is celebrated as the unpeated Islay producer, instead choosing to focus on experiments such as trialling barley varietals. Distilled back in 2006, this single cask release has been aged in a refill bourbon hogshead, which allows the fruit-forward character to shine. A beautiful bottling that sums up the spirit of Bruichladdich.
Nose: A dessert-like nose opens with golden syrup, poached pears, lifted by a zip of fresh apple.
Palate: Freshly polished wood comes through, along with luscious mango and juicy sultanas, founded by an earthy spice quality.
Finish: Long and lingering, with more tropical fruit and a drying clove finish.
