Appleton Estate 20 Year Old Hearts Collection 2002 63% ABV

Jamaica’s Appleton Estate is known for producing stellar rums, and this release in the renowned Hearts Collection is just that. It was created by master blender Joy Spence to celebrate single marque rums made using a Forsyth pot still. It’s made from 20 casks aged for at least 20 years, and is as bold as it is delicious. 

Tasting note:

Nose: Initially lighter than expected with florals and citrus peels, before dark chocolate and ground coffee arrive,

Palate: Rich and mouth-filling, the florals get deeper and tropical fruits arrive on the palate. Spice and funk, tempered with a vanilla smoothness, build complexity. 

Finish: Long, drying into dusty coffee.
