Strathclyde 31 Year Old 1994 The Wealth Spirit 41.1% 70cl
Aged single grains whiskies are treasures – and this release from new indie bottler The Wealth Spirit is something special indeed. Distilled back in 1994 at Glasgow’s Strathclyde distillery, it’s spent ovet three decades maturing in a refill hogshead. Light and bright, yet profoundly fruity and complex, this is a whisky that offers both incredible value and a mouthwatering flavour profile.
Official tasting notes:
Nose: Delicate and tropical at first, opening with notes of pineapple and ripe banana. Layers of vanilla ice cream and a gentle drizzle of honey emerge, supported by a subtle flinty, mineral undertone.
Palate: Lightly oily in texture, with floral honey leading into soft cereal notes. Developing hints of drying oak spice, candied citrus peel, and fresh vanilla pod add complexity.
Finish: Creamy and satisfying, with impressions of banana milkshake. Lingering white pepper spice and a touch of butterscotch sweetness round out the experience.
