Staoisha 10 Year Old Woodrow's of Edinburgh 52.9% 70cl
Noted independent bottler Woodrow’s of Edinburgh is back with a remarkable Islay release aged for just over a decade in total. It started life at Islay distillery Bunnahabhain back in 2014 (Staoisha is the name for its peated spirit), when it was filled into a single refill hogshead. It was recasked into a first-fill, ex-Pedro Ximénez cask for a three-year finish period, ahead of bottling in March 2025. This is a bold, expressive whisky, offering barbeque smoke, brine, hazelnut and sweetcorn notes, wrapped up in a full-bodied texture. Just 196 bottles have been released.
