There’s a new Heavily Peated in the building – and with it, we’ve levelled up the smoke! Heavily Peated Cask Strength joins our Heavily Peated family, and at a whopping 61.1% ABV, it’s bold, powerful, and unmistakably phenolic. Our team exactingly selected and vatted the casks for this batch, settling on 40% new oak and 60% first-fill ex-Kentucky bourbon to balance out the bold oaky notes with fresher, more vibrant elements. And the result is a high-octane single malt Scotch indeed. Rustic, coastal and remarkably versatile, Heavily Peated Cask Strength works fantastically both neat and over ice, and stands up in an array of cocktails. Plus it’s non-chill-filtered with no added colour. Enjoy!

Tasting notes:

Nose: Bold, rich and round, the nose opens with smoked peanuts, red cherry and citrus notes, baked into slightly burned toast, rocket leaf, and the satisfying smoky-sweetness of barbecue-charred sweetcorn. With time, apple sauce, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and cinnamon emerge, followed by fresh vanilla pods and smoky bacon crisps.

Palate: The audacious character continues on the palate with the rowdy arrival of roadwork smoke and black pepper, along with fresh coconut, charred tropical fruit, honeycomb, and some drying florals. Red berries provide a lift, but it remains grounded in an earthy funk.

Finish: Very long with chilli spice and charred tropical fruit.
