Mac-Talla Mara

A stripped-back, traditional young Islay whisky, this is the kind of Scotch you'd find in a hardy ginger-bearded fisherman's hip flask. Strong, peaty, flavoursome and spirit driven, it's guaranteed to light a fire in your belly.
If you want to know what whisky tasted like over 100 years ago, this is the one to go for. Distilled at one of Islay's most legendary distilleries, you simply can't go wrong.

Nose: A slightly citrus note to begin with as the dram rests we find stormy sea spray, iodine, seaweed Bakewell tart and spicy fennel.

Palate: This is Islay for sure, lots of coastal tones from the off, some tobacco leaves sweet oak and smouldering embers, some vanilla and golden honey with salted caramel.

Hints of smoked meats and a delicate roasted pepper lead to a warming full bodied Islay finish.
