A marvellously directional blended Scotch here from celebrated Leith-based blender, Woven. Ranked right up as ‘Exploratory’ on the brand’s flavour spectrum, this is a thoroughly unusual expression fully in line with the Woven mission to elevate blending in all its forms – in whisky and life.
Tasting note:
Nose: A rich nuttiness emerges immediately, followed by an unusual, yeasty, but very pleasant funk arrives. There’s milk chocolate and soft spices in there, too.
Palate: Wonderfully mouth-coating, the oily palate continues the theme of the nose, but the chocolate gets a little darker and the spices emerge into cinnamon, nutmeg and even mace.
Finish: Medium length, briny and beautifully nutty.
