Tomintoul Cognac Cask Finish 40% ABV
The classic, typically sherry-centred Speyside single malt – but not as you know it! Instead it’s been finished in ex-Cognac casks for a fruiter vibe. Soft, mouth-watering, and absolutely a dram to explore if you want to dig into the impact of finishing on flavour
Nose: Initially spicy on the nose before softer florals emerge, along with apple and woody pencil shavings.
Palate: The fruit gets drier and darker, before magnolia and even violet hints come through. There’s toffee and hazelnut, too.
Finish: Medium length and sweetly drying.
