Springbank 30 Milroy's Associates, Single Cask 50% Vol - 70cl
Distilled around 1965 Bottled 30 Years Later under the Milroy Associates Label Golden Strength. This is one of those single malts that you will never forget, it's a rich and full flavour single malt from Campbeltown's oldest family run distilleries.
Nose: Waxy and fruity with a subtle soft coastal tone, hessian, dried apricot and hints of soft caramel and honey coated dates, some orchard fruits like green apples and soft pears, these notes are subtle and very tempting, with a touch of spices some nuttiness and a hint of toasted oak.
Palate: Fantastic opening with sweet hints of fruits, barley sugar twists, sweet coastal tone, with a sweet soft peat that nice waxiness on the nose is right here in the long mid palate, hints of salted toffee and shortbread, smooth and lingering richness across the whole palate, this is Springbank at its ultimate on the palate.
You can pour this out and leave it to open, it's not going to diminish, indeed it grows and grows, excellent whisky for the end of the day.
