Octomore 14.1 59.6% ABV

The next instalment in the Octomore story, this 14.1 release has been distilled in 2017 from the 2016 100% Scottish Concerto barley harvest. Heavily peated to 128.9ppm and aged for five years in ex-American whiskey casks, it’s been described as being as youthful and dynamic as its predecessors. Octomore always offers a transparent insight into Bruichladdich production, and this is no exception.

Tasting note:

Nose: A sooty smoke holds vanilla, almonds, coconut and some citrus notes, with an earthy undertone.

Palate: The citrus is a little more prominent amid a creamy texture, with notes of coffee, clove, toffee, nutmeg – and of course, bonfire smoke.

Finish: Long with smouldering earth notes and vanilla pods.
