Mannochmore 14 Year Old 2008 Rare Find #13963
Known for its floral character, Mannochmore’s production has largely been devoted to blends. It’s a delight then to see this 14 year old single cask release from Gleann Mòr’s Rare Spirits team. Aromatic, grassy and sweet, this bottling is all about the Speyside distillery’s lightness, with gentle base notes of nuttiness and sweet spices. Distilled back in 2008, it’s been drawn from a refill bourbon barrel.
Nose: All about sweetpea and magnolia notes, in with sweet pastries and fudge. Green orchard fruits give a summery feel.
Palate: The fruit theme continues with candied oranges, alongside almond croissants, more florals and malty notes. Chocolate-covered hazelnuts give added depth.
Finish: Medium length and drying, with citrus peels and warming cloves.
