It’s time – the second seasonal spring release from Lochlea is here! The Lowland Scotch whisky distillery releases quarterly expressions named to reflect what’s going on in the distillery at that time of year. It’s now sowing season once more! This edition has been matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and released without added character or chill filtration. Here’s to spring sunshine!
Tasting note:
Nose: Bursting with sunshine-like cereal notes, there’s lots of apple too as well as apricot, gentle spices and a breezy grassiness.
Palate: The sunshine sentiment continues on the palate with zesty citrus peels, more apples, butterscotch and shortbread. Some woody spices come through too, along with toasted nuts.
Finish: Medium length with a lovely sweetness.
