Ledaig 10 Year Old 46.3% Isle Of Mull
(pronounced Letch-ick) Ledaig is the peated expression from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull.
The distillery was founded back in 1798 like a number it had issues with closing and opening from time to time, by 1878 it was all clear with production right through to 1930 when the distillery closed again.
For the distilleries full history we would highly recommend a tour to the amazing isle of mull to see this historic distillery.
The rich malty Ledaig spirit is accentuated with the hazy smokiness. This is certainly an expression for fans of Islay whisky who wish to venture further up the west coast of Scotland but still have that richly peated spirit.
Nose: Sweet briny smokiness with distinct island character and playful notes that hint at mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and floral seaside aromas. Soft peat, gentle smoke.
Palate: Tantalisingly sweet, medicinal flavours infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peaty smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess.
Finish: A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness.
