Ledaig 10 Year Old 2011 Rare Find  Cask #6992

Sensationally well-sherried Ledaig single malt from Mull-based distiller Tobermory and bottled by the Rare Find team at Gleann Mòr Spirits. Ledaig is known for its roadwork-like peat influence and mouth-filling robustness – paired with a first-fill Oloroso quarter cask and you get a flavourful dram indeed. It’s enormously bold and wildly fun – a single malt that’s an essential taste for peated whisky fans.

Nose: There’s a tar-like peat immediately apparent, along with rich dried fruit, Christmas cake, and a sightly drying nuttiness.

Palate: Bold dark chocolate comes through with the peat smoke, plus an intriguing herbal, almost menthol quality. Bold and round, there’s a salinity and a suggestion of tobacco leaf, too.

Finish: Long with more dark fruits and an enduring medicinal smoke.
