JPL Lowland Rum 40% - 70cl

John Paul Jones Rum, A Scottish Lowland Rum with a complex and taste driven profile.

John Paul Jones 1747 - 1792 Born in Scotland moved to the Americas.  He was naval Captain for the US navy during the American Revolutionary War sinking British battle ships

This Rum was aged in Charred American Oak Casks, steeped with Scottish Seaweed to deliver a rum that is very unique indeed.

Nose: A rich and complex nose opens with a hint of toasted oak embers, vanilla pod and sweet spices, let this open in the glass to reveal a subtle coastal sweet note.

Palate: Wow this is a complex start! Some salted caramel toffee, vanilla and honey, after a moment it's really opening up with some fresh ground pepper, smoke and charred oak, soft creamy tones add a superb balance in the mid palate, spices and vanilla mingle with a great iodine note that come from the seaweed.

Finish: With a tangy dark chocolate nib and mellow vanillas in the finish this is an exceptional rum indeed.

This is a unique Rum style that is a change and a challenge to conventional Rum styles,

 Rich amber gold colour
