Jameson Black Barrel 40% ABV

A special small-batch bottling of Jameson here, made using a high proportion of pot still and grain whiskeys matured in double-flame charred Bourbon barrels. The charring – or indeed toasting – inside a cask enables the spirit to interact with the oak, and different levels of charring will result in different flavours. This technique emparts extra rich exotic fruit and deep spice notes. One for the curious Irish whiskey fan for sure.

Nose: A wondrously fruity nose with huge tropical fruit, nectarines and even coconut all wrapped up in a creamy fudge note.

Palate: Full and mouth-filling, there’s more tropical fruit notes, along with walnuts, citrus peels, and fresh vanilla pods. Gentle sweet spices and a touch of tobacco add a sense of depth.

Finish: Medium length with more vanilla, toasted wood and a touch of clove.
