Indri Trini Three Wood 46% ABV
An exciting new Indian single malt whisky here from the Indri distillery, owned by drinks group Piccadilly. It’s made from local six-row barley, and was laid down back in 2010. Excitingly, this is the first Indian whisky to be made using a trio of casks: ex-bourbon, ex-PX sherry cask, and ex-wine. One to try if you’re into exploring world whisky.
Nose: Inviting and immediately complex, there’s stewed pineapple, honey and spicy cinnamon, along with raisins, plum and black tea.
Palate: Smooth and mouth-filling, with more tropical fruit, citrus peel, cinnamon and a pecan nuttiness.
Finish: Medium length with a lingering drying oakiness.
