The Mitchell Family business started 135 years ago in Dublin, Bonding and marking whiskey with the distinctive spot logo, they became iconic the world over.
To mark the anniversary a special celebration release called Gold Spot was unleashed on the market.
This very limited edition of Gold Spot was matured for 9 years in Bourbon barrels, Spanish Sherry Butts, Bordeaux wine casks and Portuguese Port wine casks.
Nose: Sweet tropical fruits, pineapple and light golden syrup, touches of light vanilla and soft honey, Green apples and ripe pears, light toffee and citrus sweet notes lift the nose even more as this dram opens in the glass.
Palate: A superbly balanced opening across the whole palate, with a rich and creamy note of vanilla, soft cinnamon, truffles, baked apple pie, some nice hints of spices with a deliciously tangy nutty mid palate, the finish is just about perfect, smooth and fruity with the influence of the casks creating a seamless taste journey.
This is a very limited release, 1 bottle per customer, per household, postal / zip code.
