This single malt was rather famous for some years thanks to the original labels mentioning Cuba and Havana, this caused a swell in demand in the USA where it was shall we say unwelcome by officials.
Nose: The interaction between the Spirit and the casks shines on the nose, Lots of fruity sweet aromatic aromas, vanilla pod adds a superb creamy note with hints of churned toffee, with hints of ripe banana, succulent figs, rich toffee, new leather and oak.
Taste: The opening of the palate has a smooth and sweet profile, add in some cracked black pepper, sweet smoke and fresh ginger root, spiced apple and lime, with a warming mix of sweet toffee and spice, hints of soft chocolate and peach lead into a long and spicy mix of flavours, with a little hint of dryness in the background, some delicate tropical fruit notes add to the finish of this amazing single malt.
