Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Small Batch Bourbon 61.1% 70cl

One of the mainstays of the British bourbon scene has to be Elijah Craig, bars and restaurants in London that had this brand on the then limited menus seemed to be a rare find until the mid 1990’s when it was the must have alternative for a more discerning drinker.
This is a small batch offering so expect a few changes now and again but you will always have some amazing mainstay profiles around thanks to the care of each batch.
Nose: Now this is a surprise for sure as the ABV does not hide the amazing richness of toasted oak, caramel and hints of maple syrup, raisins and chocolate.
Palate: A warming mouthfeel right out of the bottle into the glass but let this breath its going to deliver in ways other high strength drams can't. A mellow hint of caramel and malt loaf, spiced fruit and vanilla mingle with a rich milk chocolate and mellow honey note.
Just when you think its all over the finish leaps forward with some old school classic notes of tobacco leaf and warm leather, red apple and spices with a creamy tone to the very end.
