Daftmill 15 Year Old 56.3% 70cl

A regal bottling here, and a grande dame of the Daftmill world. One of the smallest whisky distilleries in Scotland, the Lowland maker produces tiny quantities of single malt from organic barley grown on its own land. And this 15-year-old bottling, distilled during June, July and August 2009, is one of the oldest released by the family-owned producer. Bottled in December 2024 at ‘Fife strength’ 56.3%, this 15-year-old has been drawn from just 20 casks: nineteen first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and a single PX sherry butt. Crack this open and you’ll find a stunningly creamy whisky, with buttery shortbread, crème brûlée and stewed fruit notes.

Daftmill

One of Scotland's smallest distilleries, Daftmill has already gained a cult following for its excellent grain-forward seasonal expressions and traditional approaches. Located in Fife, north of Edinburgh, the distillery was founded by brothers Ian and Francis in 2003, gaining its licence a couple of years later. Today, they release high-quality, small batch expressions made with barley grown on the surrounding farm, and its own spring water.
