Caol Ila Distiller's Edition 43% 70cl

One of the greatest Caol Ila bottlings on the market, simply put. Despite being bottled at the standard 43%, this superb Islay malt was aged partially in Moscatel casks lending a complex sweetness to the citrus and peat of Caol Ila.

Caol Ila is Islay's powerhouse distillery, producing malt whisky mainly for blends such as Johnnie Walker Black Label. Yet their reputation is up there with the best Islay has to offer, proving quality and quantity can go hand in hand.

Nose: Concentrated pure, peaty and fresh-clean, with rich fruit; spicy and fragrant.

Palate: Sweetness and maltiness are overwhelmed by peat smoke and intense, clean, crisp flavours. Caol Ila’s signature smoky bonfires build. Overall, drying, in a balanced, complex, elegant development with cinnamon. Long, rounded, robust and multi-layered.
