This classic Islay has been matured in European Oak casks before being finished in a 1st Fill Palo Cortado Sherry Hogshead.
Nose: Some classic aromas of Caol Ila flow from the nose, Iodine and smouldering peat smoke, some dark aromatic fruits, hints of leather and smouldering oak wood, treacle and pepper add a tangy complexity to the nose.
Palate: The sherry cask comes into play on the front and middle of the palate, dark fruits like figs and Damson's mix with some dark chocolate and plumbs, a salty tangy toffee and rich smoke and spices.
