Independent bottler Decadent Drinks returns with its Winter 2024 Equinox and Solstice series. This time round, it’s an 11-year-old sherry-matured Bunnahabhain, distilled back in 2013. To craft it, the team combined a first-fill oloroso hogshead of lightly peated spirit with a first-fill PX hogshead of heavily peated whisky. They spent a couple of months vatting together, before being bottled at 48.5% ABV. It’s a “big, rich, velvety and generously peated” Bunnahabhain, according to the team, which sounds thoroughly excellent to us.
