Benriach 10 Year Old - Smoky Ten - 46% - 70cl
The Smoke Ten is a bit of a traditional style from Speyside dating back to the 19th century, rather than use the heavy west coast peat they used some local sourced highland peat.
This single malt is made with both Peated and Unpeated Barley aged in 3 Cask styles, Jamaican Rum, Toasted Virgin Oak and classic Bourbon Casks.
Nose: Some sweet smoke and honey give an almost summer barbeque aroma, with a sweet hint of pear and other orchard fruits it's a very tempting dram.
Palate: Some rich tangy dark toffee with a nice hint of spiced pear and soft caramel, with a rich smouldering applewood embers tone this dram is a nice departure from the norm, with a lingering rich and fruity finish this dram makes the perfect after dinner dram.
