Arran Port Cask Finish 50% ABV

An exciting Port cask release from island distillery Arran. After maturing the spirit in traditional oak casks for eight years, the Arran team transferred it over into Port barrels for a finishing period. The combination of island whisky with the Portuguese fortified wine is a very happy one – there’s all manner of richness, and it works especially well with a cheese plate.

Tasting note:

Nose: Initially incredibly apple-forward, before crème brulee, muesli and jammy fruit notes arrive. There’s a warm woody undertone, too.

Palate: The fruit becomes drier and there’s a honeyed fudge note. Complexity comes with citrus peels, vanilla spice, cocoa nibs and ginger biscuits.

Finish: Medium length and warming, with baking spices.
